 Expocannabis Sur 2010
It seems it was only yesterday when we opened the first Hemp Fair in Spain. That fair broke the mould in a society hidden behind false believes, stereotypes and a moral full of hypocrisy. Since that Spannabis was celebrated in Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, six more editions, all notably successful, have followed in Barcelona as well as five Expocannabis editions in Madrid.
The social movements focusing on cannabis have been opening doors throughout these years. Every edition of Expocannabis and Spannabis were warmly received by visitors, exhibitors and media, increasing its international recognition as well as the number of visitors at both events each year. After these years of experience, and to live up to visitor's and exhibitor's expectations, we have decided to create an edition in the south of Spain.
For that purpose we have chosen Málaga, the Costa del Sol (Sun Coast) capital, as the place to celebrate it. After having considered other provinces and venues, we settled on the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos of Málaga (FYCMA) for many different reasons. Read More

Hemp Information.
First of all, we'd like to make it clear that "hemp" or cannabis is not the same thing as marijuana. Cannabis/hemp is the fiber that obtained from a plant known as Cannabis Sativa L. It is possible to get male samples from this plant which provide fiber but contain very low amounts of THC, the psychoactive chemical in marijuana which gives the plant its stimulating and healing affects.
The plant from which one obtains the fiber also has the typical leaf known internationally as the "marijuana leaf." This is why you will commonly find the leaf used on some of the products manufactured from hemp. The symbol of the leaf is a reference to the raw material from which the product is manufactured.

The Greatest Cannabis Fair in the World

 And so for a few days Barcelona will become the Cannabis Capital of the world thanks to the 7th annual celebration of Spannabis, from the 26th to 28th of Febuary 2010.
Cornellá’s convention center will once again host what has become the world’s largest fair in the hemp sector. With a little over 8,000 m2 and over 150 exhibitioners, you can see and try a wide range of products, ranging from industrial hemp to materials for cultivating, various parafenalia and of course the world’s best known seed banks. We will also be in the presence of associations and various professionals of the cannabis world, making Spannabis an excellent place to meet people and network.
Additionally we look forward to celebrating another year of the Cannabis Champions Cup, by far the most aromatic award out there despite all attempts to tarnish its image.
This time around we hope to surpass the high records of attendence last year, which reached over 18,000 people in a three day period. DJ’s with all the best music and people in costumes parading through the isles will be present to add an extra element to the atmosphere.
